Conformity assessment for means of public entertainment and playground equipment.
According to the standard ČSN EN 13814 public entertainment means, entertainment facilities, amusement riding devices are any riding, textile or membrane structures or equipment, side stands, stages, tents forming part of riding equipment, stands, platforms, etc. which may be repeatedly assembled without any damage or loss of integrity even temporarily or permanently at fairgrounds, in amusement parks or at other sites.

Playground equipment means equipment and structures including components with which or on which children may play indoors or outdoors either individually or in groups according to their own rules or due to own reasons for playing which may be changed at any time.

 

Legislation / standards:

By course of Act No. 22/1997 Coll. as amended, playground equipment includes specified products whose conformity to respective regulations must be proved. The method of conformity assessment of playground equipment is regulated by Government Decree No. 173/1997 Coll. as amended, which stipulates the selected products for conformity assessment. Individual pieces of playground equipment are stated in Appendix No. 2 item 7 (means of public entertainment) of this Government Decree. Assessment of their conformity is subject to performance of an authorized body. These issues are dealt with by the ČSN EN 1176-1 to 7 and ČSN 1177 standards.
These issues are further dealt with by the standard ČSN EN 13814 which stipulates the minimum requirements necessary for ensuring a safe design, calculation, production, mounting, maintenance, operation, inspections and test of mobile temporarily or permanently installed means of public entertainment and structures.
