Type Approval
International and national type approval of technical worthiness of road vehicles, their systems, components, separate technical units and accessories.
International and national type approvals
All approvals of road vehicles (international and national) are based on separate type approvals of their systems, components, technical units and accessories. These separate type approvals are assessed and granted in accordance with:
- Technical regulations of European Community/EU (directives, regulations, decisions)
- Regulations of UN Economic Commision for Europe,
- Czech Act No. 56/2001 Coll. and Decree No. 341/2002 Coll., as last amended.
Based on separate approvals the following vehicle type approvals may be granted:
- EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA)
– passengers cars (vehicles category M1)
– motocycles (vehicles category L)
– tractors (vehicles category T) - National vehicle type and accessory type approval
- National approval of individually produced or imported vehicles
TÜV SÜD Auto CZ has been accredited and recognised to perform approval tests in accordance with the technical regulations shown above by the following authorities:
- Ministry of Transport, Czech Republic
- Czech Accreditation Institute (CAI), Czech Republic
- Transport Authority (KBA), Germany
- Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA), Great Britain
- Certification Agency (SATR), Russian Federation
- Road Vehicles Certification System (DOTARS), Australia
